SELECTION GUIDE
How do you choose the right retractor?
You choose a suitable Gear Keeper retractor based on a number of important features:
- Retraction force: This determines how much weight the retractor can handle. Choose a retractor that is suitable for the weight of the object you want to attach to it.
- Leash length: How much freedom of movement do you need? Consider carefully how long the leash will last during use.
- Lock function or automatic retraction : Some retractors have a lock function that allows you to secure the line. This is useful if you're working with the tool for extended periods. If you prefer convenience, choose a model that retracts smoothly (not too quickly, not too slowly).
- Connection and mounting: Check carefully which connection is compatible with your tool, appliance, or accessory. With a Quick Connect-1 (Q/CI) or Quick Connect-2 (Q/C-II), you can purchase additional accessories later and easily switch between tools.
- Special applications: Do you need a retractor for an ID badge, access pass, or access tag? Then choose a compact retractor with a pivot/swivel mounting, specifically designed for these types of applications.

How do you choose the right tool tether?
When choosing a tool tether, it's important to consider how and where you want to secure the tool:
- Attaching to a person or object : Do you want to attach the tool to yourself or to a fixed object, such as scaffolding, a pipe structure, or a work table? Choose a suitable tether.
- Retractable or static: Do you need a lot of freedom of movement? Then a retractable tool tether is ideal. For lighter applications, a fixed (stretchable) tether is often sufficient.
- Length and Stretch: Determine how much length and stretch the tether should have during use, without it becoming cumbersome or getting in the way.
- Connections and weight: Pay attention to the tether's maximum load capacity and ensure the connection is compatible with your tools. For added flexibility, tethers with side release or quick-connect systems are also available, allowing you to quickly switch between different tools.
- Special applications: For warehouse work or logistics environments, we have adjustable shoulder straps with integrated retractor, perfect for carrying an HF scanner, warehouse scanner, or similar device.
